CONCRETO is conceived as a

training school

inspired by the Renaissance concept of the artist shop or “La Bottega”, where the apprentices learn the skills from the master, and directly practise the skills learnt with tangible examples.

CONCRETO is defined as

learner-centred

engaging and based on real life experience becoming today’s and tomorrow’s “artist shop for concrete architecture and its rehabilitation methods” or better: La bottega delle riparazioni del cemento.

The teaching and learning activities are thus crucial to the achievement of CONCRETO project objectives. Architectural and technological history and latest developments intersect and overlap in an educational process which demands a creative and unique approach, and requests from the students’ investigative work on the building which continues throughout the conservation and design process.

CONCRETO aims to

bridge the gap

between the academia and the professional world by providing the right skillset to better equip professionals of today to succeed and become the experts of tomorrow.

The CONCRETO

apprenticeship

will foster practical skill development and the exchange of knowledge, promoting active critical thinking to better equip professionals to make the RIGHT DECISIONS.
